LAPBAND (Laparoscopic Adjustable Band)

Laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB) is a restrictive weight loss procedure. In this procedure a band is secured around the upper portion of the stomach separating it into a small section and a larger section. Weight loss is achieved by reducing the capacity of the stomach thereby allowing the patient to experience a sense of fullness more quickly, even while consuming less food. Since the band is adjustable it can be loosened or tightened to change the rate of weight loss.

Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy

Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy (LSG) is a restrictive procedure that reduces the size of the stomach and limits food intake. About 75% of the stomach is removed leaving a narrow gastric “tube” or “sleeve”. No intestines are removed or bypassed. It does not cause decreased absorption of nutrients. After eating a small amount of food, you will feel full very quickly and continue to feel full.

Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass

Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (pronounced roo-en-why, or simply RYGB) involves both restrictive and malabsorptive techniques to produce long term weight loss. RYGB can be performed as a laparoscopic (minimally invasive) procedure. First, the stomach is reduced in size by using surgical staples or the vertical banding method. Next, a Y-shaped section of the small intestine is attached to the pouch allowing food to bypass the lower stomach. This allows the body to reduce the amount of calories and nutrients the body absorbs.

Smart Lipo

Through the use of laser technologies to melt fat while coagulating blood in the blood vessels, it is possible for patients to enjoy all the benefits of traditional liposuction without the long recovery periods. The recovery period is diminished because Smart Lipo is a minimally invasive procedure.
